Brand new to scrapping. Doing cans. Just wondering if Paint cans are worth anything. Was thinking they were aluminum. If they are steel is it worth it. How much do scrap metal places in Dupage county give for steel. Any advice helps. Thanks

All metal is money! Call scrapyards in your area to get current prices. Prices, grades of stuff and rules are different at every yard.Quote:

If the paint is dried mine will. I use the cans to hold small steel items and then put the lid on to keep them contained. I hate when people dump screws and nails as they almost always find my tire!Quote:

Yea I hate the plastic coffee ones. Heck I even use a Pringels can to hold screws and nails, it has a metal bottom! LOL Just tape it closed and in it goes!!
Unless you can get 40-50 cans at a time, they aren't worth it in my opinion.
Check them with a magnet, then call the yard you want to sell them to and ask if they buy them and how much per pound
