Hi everyone, I am new at this and still learning. I have done a lot of reading on the forum, but still have ?

Stainless Steal Non magnetic is a given price. What about magnetic SS is there a rate for that or is that the same a shred?

Stripped Copper wire

Bare bright as I understand is clean stripped wire thicker than a pencil lead.

Scrap #1 Copper stripped clean wire

Scrap #2 Copper wire with a coating on it like varnish, I take it wire from motor windings would fall into this category. How about yokes out of TV's are they #1 or #2 or is there a separate category for these?

Again I am learning so any and all input would be appreciated.

For magnetic SS my yard gave me shred, yours could be different though. For copper yokes it depends because some are enameled and others arent but i usually put it with copper #2. Hope that helps, maybe someone with more experience could help more or correct me.

usually magnetic stainless is sold for shred/tin.... after i beat the copper out of tv yolks i sell it for number 2 copper......round my parts anything copper is clean and shiny is number 1 copper also if it is solid stranded wire and is at least as big as a pencil lead it is also number one

#1- most yards will only give you shred price for magnetic SS, very few have a separate price for magnetic.
#2- You are correct on the bare bright, most of mine will go as #1 or #2, all depends on the size. BB seems to be solid wire (12 ga and bigger) and not stranded.
#3- 14-16 ga stranded (and smaller) will be #2 along with any varnished. Also the yokes will be #2 after the copper has been knocked loose. The ferrite (black stuff) will go in the shred bucket.
