easy stripping?
I got a lot of small wire I would like to strip... usually the wire I scrap is larger and relatively easy to strip with a razor and pliers... but this stuff is smaller and the razor blade catches a lot... would wire strippers be the best bet? I've heard of people burning the rubber insulation off but I don't know how my neighbors would feel about that or if that would be the best route or how to burn it properly. .. any suggestions?

burning would not be the best route, and is illegal in most places that I know of. I usually don't strip the small stranded stuff, but if I do I only use a razor knife. I own no stripping toys...

Yes burning wire is a very bad idea. You will find that stripping small gauge wire will not make sense. If you continue to read the forum you will be making more money with the time you would be striping that small wire. Mike

On smaller stuff, your better off getting paid for all that insulation. Up here our local yard will dock your pay for burnt wiring if they take it at all.
Stripping anything smaller than 12 ga just doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the replies...not stripping anything smaller than 12ga seems like a good rule of thumb and was pretty much exactly the answer i was looking for... the only reason I strip anything that small is out of boredom anyway
