'95 Volvo 850 cat
Picked up this Volvo the other day, pretty much paid scale weight for it.
Hoping this cat scores some dough.

I stuck a stick in one end, seems one section on the cat is empty. (the narrower side)
Focker was right, asked him some questions via pm about this cat and he said to be careful and that sometimes there is 1 of 3 sections could be empty, that they may downgrade because of this.

yeah so since one side is missing it is now a med foreign.

Just sold this cat for 100$. I am happy, my list says 113$.
On a side note got pulled over by the fuzz while in tow, but I was all good. A fine would have seriously set me back. Did not have my tow lights on the car. Up here you need to have them if your tail lights are not visible or if there is "inclement weather". Was a nice guy and let me go. PHEW!

nice! I had a volvo cat off a 98 S70 I think, and it paid $130..but it was different than that one in shape but also had 3 chambers like that one.
good to know on prices locally!
-
my guy pays $130 for that cat, and that one "empty" spot is normal, no burn out
-
well atleast you didnt get a ticket.
-
Thanks Focker! My guy said that the 3rd chamber is actually a resonator and it is normal that it is empty, you are also right Shaun319..
-
Yeah on some of them they have all 3 but that is pretty rare to come across.I have had a few of them.

SuperDave, do you have your dolly plated?
-
Yes I do. I was also informed by the kind officer that anything with an axle needs to be plated. I always thought that a dolly was considered a tow bar but after our discussion he had to make a call to find out. Turns out I do. I carry the plate for my tent trailer in the truck, not supposed to, I use it sometimes. I will have to get a proper plate and ownership for it. I bought it without ownership, so I'll have to call it homemade to get one from MTO.
Also he make me aware that I should always use lights while in tow. Law states that you do not need to if your lights are visible but do need in "inclement weather". He said it would save me time and would deter other officers from pulling me over.

hmm, I was curious because I was picking up a car back in the fall and was just around the corner from the place and a cop stopped me for no plate on mine. I said that as far as I knew it didn't need one, he called in and asked and came back and said that I was right and as long as it's empty or towing a vehicle it doesn't need a plate but if I had anything else on it I would need a plate.
as for the "anything with an axle needing a plate" I have seen many things without plates like tow behind cement mixers (had one at my old work), generators and pumps and stuff like that.
guess I will have to look into getting an ownership done for mine and a plate
