Just a quick question. Are brass plated items worth anything more than shred? Came across around 50 pounds or so of hinges and was wondering if it was worth more.

What is the item?
Plated items, they would probably go as steel at my yard because the brass is so thin.
If they stick to a magnet they go as steel no matter what they are plated with.

If you have a lot of hinges, I'd sell them as a 'lot' on ebay or CL, probably under Materials.
I found some old type brass keys in the street (not plated), but instead of adding to my brass bucket, I'm selling them to crafters. They love those things.
