Hello from Ottawa!!
Hello everyone.
I found this forum while searching for prices of catalytic converters and seeing what the best way to scrap cars are. Read alot of useful information already and hope to be able to contribute when I can!
I am concentrating mostly on scrapping cars right now. I do it part time and have been fairly successful with it as I seem to be picking up about 1 car a week which is just about as much as I can handle.
Looking forward to being around!

Where do you take them Kyle? In and around Ottawa the prices are pretty low and metric tonnage as well. I live between Cornwall and Ottawa, so for me I can buy cars in Ottawa and sell in Cornwall. 180 a ton there, smaller yard and great to deal with. Also Henstock on tenth st. is the best yard by far to sell cats, AL rims with tires fetch 10$, they deal with all non-ferrous.
The yards in Ottawa used to have price wars, that was great for us but now they are in cahoots they are always the same.
Also welcome to the forum lots of good info here, if you need price lists for cats send me a pm as they are not buyers here.

Thanks guys!
Superdave: I knew that question would be asked. All I will say is it's a new yard and they are paying more than the big players which has been great for me! LOL.
I tried to contact henstock but they didn't answer. I have a buyer in Brighton who seems to be pretty good with his prices. He's paying 14 an alum rim w/o tire and 10 with and batteries $10 plus good prices on cats, on par(some better, some lower) with PGM in Toronto. Maybe I should look into Henstock for future but they don't seem to have a price list on their website or anything and they only appear to be open mon-fri 8-3?

Welcome to the forums from a sandbar off the coast of NC.
Another Canuck to add to our membership! Glad to have you. Lots of good info an folks here, so you should enjoy your stay. We have quite a few folks from north of the border, so you should feel right at home. I see two of them have already made themselves known! Sure the rest of Canuck federation will chime in as they see your post. ;)
Either way, hope to hear more tales of scrapping from north of the border, and good luck!
