Oil tanks

When you guys pick up oil tanks do you charge for them or do you pick them up for free (generally speaking I know distance travel time and helper expenses play a factor) I usually charge 25 unless I get the cast iron boiler with it. Also how do you guys handle cutting it up and draining the oil I use a mini handheld siphon and bring the oil to autozone or if it's good I sell it for 1 dollar a gallon , I use a grinder or a sawzall to cut the tank , it takes me generally 25 to 35 mins for all this anyone have a more efficient way ?

For free i pay forty to make twenty. All day half day job. Now charge. Too toxic for free. I gave away oil now give to oil recy co. That gives me loner barrels. A full tank can fill about 6 barrels. I load and unload these by hand. Uggggg . That's why i now charge. I'm professional.

Ron, keep your eyes peeled for a hand crank farm diesel/oil pump. They can be a big help pumping the oil out faster and you can get one cheap, around $15 at a farm sale. They usually have a 3 foot tube or more on them and you just poke it in the tank and crank away.

If I was going to be dong a couple a month I think I would invest in the $45.00

The plastic one will not work. The other is cool. Id get. Hmmm

I've got one bolted on a 2x6 using a scrap electric motor and a pump driven with a belt. Rubber line(old gas hose) to put in the tank, need to shake it up and down to get a prime and garden hose connector on the output to fill the barrels.

I recommend you to buy an oil pump and a new one, and then you won't have to go through the entire cutting procedure, hence you will be saving your time as well as energy. A new pump won't cost you more than 60$.
