Motherload but need some advise

So I work for a large call center and all of the computers have been replaced (have old CRT monitors and old Dell dimension 3000 with no ram or hard drives) I have the potential to make a lot of money as we have up to 600 computers

They have been looking at having to pay to have these removed and told them well I would take them all. But due to corporate policy they require to have a "business name" This part is simple as I can use my Legal name as a business name in my Province. And I will gladly hall them all away free of charge!

They need proof that the computers will be recycled. Only proof I can think of is a detailed list of how each items will be recycled.

This is what I plan on doing

All copper wiring will be removed and larger items like power cords stripped and delivered to "local scrap yard"
all Aluminum will be removed and delivered to "local scrap yard"
All steel components removed and delivered to "local scrap yard"
All boards removed and shipped to "who ever I decide to send to
All monitors will have guts removed and a local car crusher takes the glass and plastic cases free of charge
All plastic will be recycled at a local facility that will take free of charge

My yard has copper at $3# stripped, unstripped $1.85#, computer ribbon wire $0.10# (LOL), aluminum $0.60# and steel from cases would be $0.10$

Any assistance on placing a "bid" as I have no experience in that and how to word the proof of the computers being "recycled". If I am willing to take them all for free I am more or less guaranteed the computers.

All bids we've done are free, especially small/medium sized businesses. I say pickup / disposal is free, here's your affidavit of destruction, have a nice day. I would also mention the time frame, on which you can do it. If a different company is free (like you) and they say they can pickup/dispose in a day, and you said you'd get it done in a week, then they're obviously going to choose them.

Do whatever you realistically think you can do. I only charge to remove, when it's going to cost me money(like if I have to rent a truck, or have an employee do it).

I wont be outbid, they already told me that "no one around here does this" and they have been sitting here for months taking up space. cheapest is a 2 hour trip and $7.50 a computer or so.

Here in Hawaii, it's illegal to charge for recycling electronics. Unless it's a "reasonable" pickup fee. So, whatever my cost is, is what I charge them.

I am also working on betting their old phones and I know i am getting the millions of vga and power cords they have. and probley thousands of feet of network cable

we just give them a form stating that all assett tags will be removed...all data saving devices destroyed..all items will be recycled/reused in an environmentally responsible way. except its written up a little fancier

Yea, pretty much.

I saw a template floating around here somewhere. I'm sure you could find a template contract in Google for electronics recycling. The only thing required in Hawaii is "Yes, we'll destroy the data, and safely recycle the equipment."

For 600 computers, it would be worth setting yourself up with a one-month rental on a storage unit, a Uhaul truck on the big day, and a day-worker to lend a hand... errr... back. :)) I would not 'hire' a friend for two reasons: Your friend won't work as hard as an 'employee', and he just might start getting the notion that the arrangement is a partnership. A day-worker won't be expecting anything more than the price you agreed up front, plus possibly a free lunch.

You figure:
$200 for the storage unit max
Uhauls in my area are 40 bucks a day plus a buck a mile for 20ft+ cargo
a day-worker... I don't even know. Make it an even hundred. That's what it would take here.

That's $400... even call it $500 if you maybe need to buy some drill bits, lunch, etc misc... that's a $500 input to the deal.

You work your day-guy all day helping you tear down, then you spend a good chunk of your month getting all 600 machines torn down. Money will trickle in slowly to help calm you down... you'll be hauling the cases to your yard. Even at just 10 pounds of steel apiece, that's 6000 pounds total. Which would fetch $540 bucks at my usual yard. Congrats. You're up 40 bucks already! Put that 40 bucks in your gas tank, and then go tear apart what's left for what should be another four, possibly five thousand bucks.

This seemed to have worked, person who makes the decisions is not in today. But Facilities manager says it looks good!
