forced vacation

Started the morning of by my dually sliding off the driveway. Then got the wife's lifted xj stuck. Got that unstuck and started shoveling. Went and picked up a large propane torch and a scraper.(should I write it scrapper, since people on here apparently don't know the difference?)

Called in to work and told them I am taking the day off to fix my driveway.

I'm this far, about 5 hours of daylight left.

Thought I would share my struggles this morning.

The truck is being parted out if anyone is interested in anything btw.

That sucks dude...Looks like you have some melting going on though.

I hope that building on the right has a good seal around the sill plate.

I can definitely relate. About a week and a half ago I was digging out my street to the nearest intersection so my car would not get stuck.

Just finished shoveling my drive out too - plus the 2 1/2 foot deep crap the snowplows blocked the driveways with. heavy stuff too. was driving in a whiteout last night. said screw it and drove home in 2nd low for 45 minutes it was so bad.

lousy, at first glance I thought that was crime scene tape on the truck!!

Well, I managed to get to the front edge of my house today, been trying to melt and break up the ice with one of those huge propane torches.

The one on the right is mine, but it's a rental, and the landlord apparently doesn't care, so neither do I. I keep breaking off the icicles. That's about as far as I go.

I half expect to have my house be a puddle when the melt comes. I'm on a concrete block... which has been settling very badly infer the last 60 years. The electrical is junk, and all the door jams are cooked from the settling.

I have seen enough snow in my life, if I never see another flake I am good with it. Couldn't you use salt for the ice?
