All those coax cable ends are brass!
Note the grind marks on the samples in the photo.
I filled up a bucket tonight from virtually worthless coax separated from a Gaylord of insulated wire.

Unless you have a lot of it it's not worth cutting the ends off. I mix some in w/ my #2 insulated and get $.90-something/lb. vs. $.60-something/lb. for the brass breakage cut-offs. Every yard is different though.

The yards around here will downgrade your wire load if they see coax mixed in. Depends on the yard, I suppose

I cut mine off and save them in brass. It's a shame more coax isn't copper. Then it might actually be worth picking more up

Then it's worth it to cut them off. Most of the chrome plated coax ends are brass too if you check.
