intergraded circuits
Just wondering if there is enough gold, if any in different ic to even mess with removing them from the board and finding a buyer, or refiner. I know of the high end yeld chips. I'm wondering about all other chips on the board, wether low, mid, or high grade.
If there is already something in the old threads sorry. I did a couple searches, and didn't turn up any results to my liking. Thanx in advance.

If so, the last ones I sold were around $5.00 per lb.

Ic chips are graded by age package style pin count and manufacture.
Older inline 14 lead ic may be okay. It's die will be connected to them leads by little goldwires
Newer flat pack with leads under and on 4 sides will have a gold wire for every lead. That's a surface mount ic. If its medical grade or gov and new your good to go.
Depending on application you may have copper or silver wire going from leads to die under the plastic cap.
Wiki ic chip packaging. I just made your day!!
Of course ceramic is best. Its designed to be much better quality.
Plastic is still sweet If u learn to Really look at from a what's it purpose design.
