5.25 hdd
I searched this forum a couple times and couldn't find anything about 5.25 HDD. I have worked with computers for quite a while and these are the first 2 I have come across. Just wondering if they would be worth anything to anyone as a collector item, or what my best route to get rid of them would be. Right now if a HDD don't work them I tear them apart and destroy the platters. Before disassembling anything that isn't worth trying to sell, I will wipe the drives with diskwipe.

Those are larger full height hard drives from what you are describing. Easiest way it to look up the model numb or part number if you can find it on the drive.
Easiest way to check value as collector iten is ebay...use that info (the model) for your search...look for compketed sales.

Sounds like the bigfoot drives. I never saw them before until a fes months ago then I got 2 in 1 week. Just got a third last week. They can sell for a little bit if you can test them to ensure they work.

The best use I ever found for one was the half-height. Being a wider, thinner drive it ran real cool, and on an old Compaq desktop with little room to spare, and no room for a second HHD it tucked in underneath the CD drive

They are pretty cool. So far it appears that both of them work. I just have to do my diskwipe and I will check them out a bit more.
