This stuff used in the heating and plumbing industry. It is usually used to sense temperatures and aid in regulation of temperature. Wouldn't this stuff be used in electric stoves, electric hot water heaters, and electric furnaces? Wouldn't they use thermocouples or an RFD? These types of appliances need something to regulate the temperatures, so if they don't use thermocouples or RFD's.... what do they use?
I just read that non-electric water heaters ad furnaces could have them.... but not electric b/c the thermocouple in gas appliances are used to close the valve should the pilot light go out so there won't be build-up of gas. Anyone here ever have any success w/platinum thermocouple wire?
Does anyone know where might be the best palce to sell thermocouple wire?

As for the thermocouple wire. I have absolutely no clue exactly what that is. However, if you do an internet search of some of the bigger electric stove manufacturers you might be able to find out if they use the thermocouple wires in their appliances.
