those big round things, are they batteries? do they need removed for sending out? the board was one of many that came out of a heavy old timey flat screen tv. i've never seen these before. thanks!

Those are big capacitors.
That board most likely is not worth paying shipping on.
if it is green on both sides and there are visible IC or EPROM, you can get a greenboard/peripheral board price, you may have to remove the caps though.

Capacitors like that usually have aluminum casing. I take big ones off & put them in the Dirty aluminum bucket.
Commonly called can caps. (for obvious reasons) On the side it says 330 mfd. at 450 volt. Mfd is short for microfared.

Nah usually it has like 330 uF unless in the olden days they had it MFD then switched to uF
I only remove copper heat sinks, aluminum heat sinks and and large Ferris items, and even large transformers from mid-grade. Do not remove capacitors, I never do, only remove them if your instructed to do so by the buyer. I don't think any buyer would have you do that though.
For example my yard wants all ali caps removed.
I think most if not all ewaste buyers will appreciate and possibly even give you a better price for removing excessive base metals especially large aluminum caps. I know my buyer appreciates it. ive seen alum caps as big as 3'' wide on med. Grade boards and stuff like that will make buyers want to purchase them as low grade boards due to the weight of base metals.
That is a low grade board, leave the capassitors on, not worth shipping.
If you find any 1 Farad or larger (2, 3, 4, 5 Farad) capactors, people who do car audio are always wanting them.
But pretty rare to find them in regular electronics.Quote:
