White circuit boards in humidifier? Cant decide what to grade them as.

My latest dumpster score produced a large humidifier, which I almost didnt take because of all the plastic, but then I thought "ya know, this thing is really heavy....heavy is good" and good it was, a good sized compressor, 2 alum/copper radiators, some copper tubing, wiring, and shred.

Plus these little buggers, my camera doesnt do well at night with the fluorescent lights, so the first pick is a little off color. The board is much closer to white than it is brown. Bottom is green, that combo in itself suggests low grade to me, but I wanted to check as in all my reading ive never come across these.

The top already has a transformer removed.

Yep, white, beige, brown, and yellowish. Low grade.

That sounds like a DEhumidifier. LOL. If it was a humidifier, it wouldn't have a compressor or aluminum rads. Anyway, those are low grade boards. Just toss them in with the shred unless your yards buys them at a separate price. Just pull those little black boxes off the 2nd board. They have a copper spool inside.

The buttons might have a little gold disc in them...coulda sworn someone posted that at one point. Either BC or Burly..The b's blend to together!

There may be silver contacts in those black boxes too. Googleing the part number off of the manufacturer's website can be helpful in determining the silver alloy.

ive got a bit of them somewhere
have to sit down and smash them open & then smash the copper spool again so it seperates from the metal clip thingies around it.

Glad to see someone listens once in a while SirS....the small metal squares with the black buttons may have gold or silver contacts. They are small but will add up quickly. You will also find them on most electronics that have some sort of push button controls. Look for them on boards out of flat screen tv and monitors. Almost any contact will have at least a silver button in them.

I hear ya BC. Since I read that in one of your posts, I smash every button the electronics I do scrap. Toss them in my little OMG ITS GOLD Bucket™.

So thanks for the tip way back when BC! An yep, listening is good, it's remembering that's the issue for me. LOL.

An now I need to go make a OMG ITS SILVER Mason Jar...:-o . I don't get enough or lest I didn't think I did to justify it's own container. I know Scott/Noble is crying on the inside if he reads this. Me..the cooler keeper, not giving love to the most noble of metals. ;)

I used to do that but, I now throw them in with my copper bearing at 30 cents a lb, its just too time consuming worrying about those little parts and bits of copper. Fort me anyways, everyone is different.

Same for me, I toss them in the motor bucket. If anyone questions it at the yard, all I have to do is hit it with the heel of my boot. :)
