A use for the front silvered mirrors from rear projection TV's.

'True mirrors' and 'Infinity mirrors'.

Weeeeeell, I had a good look on the net & can't find a proper guide to making one.

Basicly its a mirror that reflects a image back to you of your face, but as others see it.
It does this by having two front silvered mirrors standing vertical as normal, at 45 deg to each other. The right mirror picks up the image of the left side of your face, but projects it to your right eye.
Same with the other side.
So what you see is your face as others see it.

Standard price for these seems a expensive US$200 each. Wow, all it is is a customwood box made spesh for the mirrors!

While searching I found out about the Infinity mirror, I have seen small versions of this in $2 shops here. Full size is pretty amazing though!

I give all my projection tv mirrors to my mother for her garden. She leans them against the fences for a look of added depth to the garden.
Oh wait! whats that over by the hostas? Never mind, its my reflection.

I have a restaurant near my house, an the staff likes to sit outside after they close, with their headlights on my house, so I redirect mine at them, an blind'm..It took them awhile but they don't do it anymore..LOL. >:)

okay im not understanding how this works, maybe its because i have had a few too many cold beverages today due to the heat, but all the mirrors ive seen in rear projection are relativley small like 2ft x 2ft at the largest so is this that mirror or is it the plastic lense from the screen?

it looks to me like there is a mirror on the bottom, a single layer of leds around the perimeter and a sheet of glass on the top?

Answer 1. I'm thinking its the 2 x 2 mirror you are talking about, my 1st mirror was wedge shaped & the 2nd was about 2 x 2 1/2 feet.
Answer 2. The top mirror is a thin silver '2 way' mirror.

I like this idea as another outlet but I sell these for $50each to astronomy clubs here local and ebay local for pick ups cause I would never try and ship these that's a lot of bad luck breaking them
