Anyone on here have any oldschool rides? Whether restored or future Project.
Our Family has a '29 Model A nearing completion, and my dad owns a 41 caddy (far from being restored, and an all original 79 Lincoln continental, great shape, and runs mint.
Im looking for a 50 to 53 chev 9300 series, or any other 50s truck with a split front window.
Couldn't find a pic of the model a or Lincoln, but here's the caddy
I have 3 future projects, 48 GMC (original), 56 Chevy 2 door wagon (original) and a 66 Chevy truck that I built in high school then sold and bought back. The 48 and 56 will stay close to original, the 66 is nowhere near original with 4 wheel disk brakes and a TPI 350. Sorry no pics.
Not countin' the '36 in my avatar... I've got a couple MG's, '64 Ford Custom and a few others.

oh and a couple of broncos that are mine 84 and 86
I don't have one..but those old 57/58 chevy's are sweet when redone. They clean up real nice. Used have a buddy who restored one..talk about envy.

'69 Bumpside 360 w/4 speed no p/s or power brakes so don't even think about using the phone when driving. Only mod is AM to FM radio swap from a Ford Rancho that cost a buck at a garage sale.

I am restoring a 1968 Dodge Super Bee. My computer crashed so I don't have pictures right now. I'm putting in a 440 and it's a 4 speed. It's going to be Lemon Twist Yellow which I know isn't a correct year color, but I love it. My 73 Roadrunner got destroyed in a flood when a creek rushed out of the banks and took it from my neighbor's yard.
Not a car and not very old but I get to have the experience of owning, riding and working on a 1938 BMW motorcycle. This bike is a Chang Jiang CJ750 Made in China. Most of the parts will bolt on a 1938 BMW R71, it is that close, but the parts aren't made of "unobtainable". In other words the parts are plentiful and inexpensive [sometimes you have to wait for the "slow boat from china". I rebuilt it in 2003. The only thing I have not had apart is the trany.

That look's exactly like my '68 F250, same color and all, except yours is nicer. The previous owner of mine decided that the original finish would look better resprayed using WalMart spray cans (except he ran out), and that ALL the trim should be bright white.Quote:

How about a 1964 Chevy Impala, took seven years to rebuild back to original.
The only things that were done to the car that are not stock is that I had the cylinders bored .40 over because they were egg shaped, and a 350 cam put in when the engine was rebuilt. Every part in the engine that could be chromed, has been, and the Munci 4 speed was rebuilt into a rock cruncher.
It was my parents car before me, my father had found a guy who inherited a building his father had purchased in 1974 at auction, but never did anything with. It was an old Chevy's parts warehouse, so I was able to purchase everything from decals, to interior, original radio, emblems, lights, etc all original, all 1964 in the box. I purchased a Biscayne 4 door, took the tilt wheel and air conditioning out and put them in the car, as well as the blue tinted glass that was a stock option. I found a company that owned the original molds used to cast the exhaust, and had the exhaust re-casted. I had the paint, which was called Chinese Red in 1964, mixed to spec. And before painted too it down to bare metal, the did two coats of primer I wet sanded myself. It was a frame off restoration, so the frame was sandblasted, and powder coated along with the rims. All the trim was straightened and the reflective decals in the center replaced.
There is a lot more I have done to the car, I used to take it to car shows and walk away with first prize more often than not. But now days I'm not to keen on taking it anywhere, it draws a certain kind of unwanted attention from a certain group of people. I was once at a car show in Sacramento California, where a guy with several of his friends tried to convince me in the wrong way that I should sell them my car, and then followed me off the park grounds. Ever since that experience I have stopped going to car shows.
The really cool thing about the car is that I was brought home from the hospital as a baby in the car, as my sister was, but also my niece and nephew and my own daughter, it's become a family tradition of sorts that I hope continues.
It's been in a few magazines back in the 90s, late great Chevy's being one, the name of the story was Big Red and has pictures of my car parked in front of a 747 400 which back when the picture was taken, was the first 747-400 sold, to United Air Lines who I was working for at the time. I was able to get the car onto the airport maintenance base and get the picture taken, which isn't something you could do today.
When I find the time, and I can get the pictures scanned, I'll post some pictures.

Impala's are sweet. Always loved seeing them tricked out, or even just cleaned up nice. Right up there with the old trucks for me.
