How to list this lot more effectively

I listed a bunch of Lab Volt stuff on ebay through a listing company I have used a lot. On this auction they seem to have missed the mark. All of the Armdroid auctions I see in completed have turned out much better than the stuff I had them list, with a lot less stuff.

Maybe they should have featured the Armdroid more? It seems to be a waste to let it go so cheap. I may bid on it myself and try to relist it now that I am doing ebay myself.

I think you answered your own question!

If you know this equipment, then you are in a better position to draft the kind of listing, that may yield more. jus my 2

Missed the mark? I'd say yes, missed completely.
First, they threw it all into a single lot. Easier for them, less for you, much less.
Next, well, it's written all over the listing

"This is available for local pickup or you can arrange your own shipping through UPS (local store number is 319-235-1800) and have them pack the items and pick them up - we do not have boxes for this lot. Estimated Dimensions are (this may vary depending on how they want to pack these items):

Box 1: 14"x20"x11" and 30 lbs.

Box 2: 12"x12"x13" and 30 lbs.

Box 3: 16"x12"x6" and 11 lbs.

Box 4: 20"x20"x12" and 21 lbs.

Lot of Lab Equipment - all pieces power up but we have no idea on how to work any of these - selling as is: "

Local pickup, arrange your own shipping, we don't have boxes, we can't operate this stuff, as-is, etc, etc, etc
That place isn't doing you any favors for sure

It may be best, if you can't stop the auction, to just let it go. There will likely be one or two there (hopefully two in this case) who will know this equipment and bid much higher than the others, but if it's only one, you'll never know how high he knows it could have gone. If you do choose to bid on it yourself, I'd suggest only bidding as high as you would buy the stuff for(cause that's exactly what you'd be doing) for resale

All of the above. I have not found the listing, but the above answers sound like they are the reason. Especially, "arrange your own shipping".

Well The auction ended and I ended up getting only 112.00 for the equipment. Since i had nothing in it I did not really lose any money. that said, I do rely on things that i find with more than scrap value to compensate in other areas that are less profitable.

I did learn a hard lesson in all of this. I the future i will list all of my own stuff since it is my own rear end on the line.

Edit} Ahh, It was! That bit shoulda got a better price I think.

Yes, it was a armdroid. The one that i had included the controller and power supply also. It was all there as well as a bunch of other stuff with it.

When my brother's girl was still in diapers she had an arrdvark, about the size of those popcorn poppers that they'd roll around and it goes pop pop pop, but this arrdvark had a little bulb on the handle, when squeezed its tongue(a little round plastic piece with a flat end) would fly out about a foot. She brought that thing and showed it to me, I started popping its tongue out and pretty soon I was chasing her around their apartment popping her on the diaper with that thing. She was diggin em up! laughing and shreekin all the way. One time round through the living room I saw my brother and his then wife looking at me with the biggest frowns. hahaha

Suggestion. Find someone you know and trust that is looking to make some extra money and have them do the listing work for you (research prices, take pics, write listing, post AFTER you approve, etc.) Pay them a percentage of the PROFIT (after deducting fees, shipping and packing costs and internet costs), on each listing. DO NOT pay by the hour. Keep the listing simple and accurate, DO NOT provide advice or recommendations as this will bite you in the butt very quickly.

It works great for us and my listing guy. I do all triage of incoming equipment. After he determines price point and turn rate then we decide whether to list or not. He takes it from there. At first, I reviewed everything before it posted, but now he knows how I want it done. He does not have access to paypal other than paying for postage. They will quickly learn how to list efficiently and it will free you do other things. We stick to commercial and industrial IT stuff. Consumer grade stuff will drive you nuts and not offer the profit or volume.
