Hi every one I've been looking at the forums for a while now so I thought I would join. I have a question about some handles. They are brass on the outside but are silver coked inside. No sparks when cut. I can't figure out if its aluminum or somthing else. Also they are not magnetic.

Pot metal was a consideration so I should just sell at iron?
There's a category for Pot Metal and I want to say it would pay around .30 #. If it's old and cool looking though they have resale value like Bear said.

I put those in with my cast scrap. Pays about .25 a pound versus .10 if you put it in with the tin pile.

They call that zinc die cast at the yard where I go.

Those are nice to have around - I've grabbed some off of discarded furniture and recycled them on my own dressers.
Those go for Aluminum for me. Drawer pulls and handles are something I will always stop for.
I throw them in with my cast aluminum. Always check them because some are brass.
Alot of handles are antique and collectable. Check ebay before you scrap them. Some people restore old furniture and look for these items. So any drawer pulls, knobs, door knobs(locks), door plates, wooden furniture legs, etc, check the resell value first. Made some easy money reselling.

Yeah not solid brass maybey plated but I can try the CL.
around ten years ago I bought an old wooden sewing machine drawer filled with old cabinet pulls, handles, knobs etc for a buck. Around the same time I decided to try Ebay selling, and listed that drawer(empty and clean), it went up to around $15. I sorted the old handles and knobs, mostly brass with fancy handles etc, possibly an old bunch of stuff saved by a handyman. I put the like kinds together and began listing those, even offered to ship worldwide, at least two bunches, no real complete sets just maybe 2 or 3 each bunch, went to Asian places like Taiwan or Hong Kong. Best as I remember I made over 45 dollars off that one dollar drawer/junk box.
Thinking back with what I know now about the way things are looking over there, the ones that went to Taiwan/Hong Kong, wherever it was, they were lions head drawer pulls, and likely got used as templates to make a mold for manufacturing duplicate look alikes ( i can't think now what that's called )
