Our Start...
Our start in electronics recycling come from a project where we, owners and Guntersville residents Jeremy and Tracy Burrage, had an idea to refurbish obsolete computers for children in need in Marshall County, AL who would otherwise be disadvantaged both educationally and technologically. Our first big purchase was from a company warehouse sale and that lot consisted of over 500+ computers and monitors. We discovered that in today’s digital age, these computers were essentially unusable. Trying to figure out what to do with over 500 monitors and computers that were completely obsolete and unusable was challenging but we taught ourselves about electronics recycling and formed Electrowaste Recycling LLC.
Our Services...
1.) Free pick-up, removal, and recycling of used, obsolete, overstocked, or broken electronics.
★ While we always offer free pick-up, in most cases you, your organization, or your company will be paid for your electronics. Contact us to let us know what you have to recycle and we will send you a quote on what we are willing to pay for your items. Our quotes are binding for 21 calendar days regardless of market swings.
★ The only items that we charge to accept are TVs and monitors and we only charge what we actually pay to have them recycled ourselves. TVs and monitors are recycled by our R2 and eStewards certified and audited downstream recyclers. In most cases, the cost of recycling TVs are offset by what we pay for electronics so there is no actual out-of-pockets costs.
★ Our men will show up at your home, organization, or business wearing uniforms and our company issued picture IDs, and exude professional and courteous service that is second-to-none. Don't allow just anyone into your home or business!
***NEW*** We now offer a container service for municipal and city recycling, small computer shops, and estate sale companies. Containers range in size from a 13 gallon bins all the way up to 8'X5' trailers.
2.) Fundraisers available for groups, businesses, churches, and other organizations.
★ Allow Electrowaste to have a electronics recycling drive at your location and get paid cash for your ministry or organization!
★ We will agree upon a price list with your agency and hold a electronics drive at your site.
★ The electronics drive will culminate on Saturday where there will be a ‘drive-n-drop’ in which donors will be able to drive up, have their electronics unloaded, and drive away never even having to get out of their vehicles.
★ Most organizations choose to start the drive on Sunday and collect electronic items for the entire week for those who are not able to attend the ‘drive-n-drop.’
★ We will supply all the signage, promotional material, and tents.
★If you have a financial goal we will supply a goal thermometer and try to help you meet that goal.
3.) Pick-up, removal, and recycling of scrap metal items.
★ This service is almost always free but please contact us with details to be sure as no two situations are alike.
★ Everything from old washing machines to a non-running vehicles and chain link fencing can be removed and recycled.
4.) Bulk-buying and cleanouts
★ Are you having a yard sale, estate sale, or cleaning out a foreclosed property and need the left-over / abandoned property gone now? We can bulk-buy!
★ We can quickly go room-to-room and calculate a quote for your items within about 5-10 minutes.
★ We can clean out an entire property recycle the electronic items & metal items, and then donate other housewares and clothes to the Hospice of Marshall County Thrift Shoppe, the Salvation Army, or the Home Place.

★ Stop paying municipalities to take off electronics and metal items. Electronics and metal-items weigh a lot and you pay for that weight when it is thrown away in your dumpster, instead you should be getting paid by allowing us to place a large, secure, and tasteful metal drop box off in a central location within your complex to allow all your residents / tenants to drop off electronics and metal items reducing your waste bill.
★ Lower the chances of people getting injured dumpster diving in your apartment's dumpster attempting to remove electronics.
★ Get paid for the donations of your residents / tenants and treat them to a pizza party or other reward event.
★ Be the apartment complex that has gone green!
A few things to keep in mind...
★ Computer hard drives from a donated computer are never reused or resold, but instead securely destroyed and you can request that the hard drive platters be returned. Computers bought at auction with hard drives larger than 80gb are wiped 7 times exceeding the Department of Defense's 3 wipe standard. YOUR DATA IS NEVER AT RISK WITH US AND OUR BOND GUARANTEES THAT!!!
★ We offer certificates of destruction for accountants / controllers / comptrollers.
★ All recycling is done in America with 80% of it happening right here in Alabama. We never have nor will we EVER ship any waste byproducts to any foreign nation.
★ Our downstream partners are Responsible Recycling (R2) certified, the highest level of certification in our field. R2 certification, which extends to us by proxy, is recognized as the standard for environmentally responsible recycling.
★ Our company model is to first refurbish, then rehome, and only THEN do we recycle. We often rehome electronics via free ads and eBay.
★ When we do recycle, we attempt to recycle every single commodity! Upon item demanufacturer (which is still done 100% by hand at our facility) we separate everything and recycle it separately for optimum recyclability. Recycling with us means your recycling goes further! We challenge you to find another recycling company that recycles, at it's own expense, silicone keypads! Our goal is the recycling of 100% of all raw materials.
