So I tore down a CRT monitor, and noticed that when the bundled wire off the yoke was pretty reddish, and when I scratched with a knife it was silvery.
But it seems to have the weight of copper, bends like copper... I can't really see how it's aluminum as it's not light and bends like that. Is CCA used in CRT monitor yokes? Or could it be copper clad zinc?
More likely copper COLORED aluminum. Usually appears as a brighter red than copper. Often used in TV cheap monitors.

I realize I should have posted this over in the Scrap Metal Identification forum.
Ive never seen clad copper in the yokes as that is high voltage in the yoke and I don't
know if the alum. wire can handle it.
They'll be making it out of plastic if they can figure out how ; )
Aluminum wire is usually easy to spot, it looks like bloated copper
