seeing the silver market drop has caused me to have more respect for my copper and brass . Why ? well I see they run in tandem .
I am quite sure a 5 gallon bucket can hold 100 pounds of copper wire if you compress with a mallet. A 100 pounds is a good amount
& easy to sell .
You may hope for silver some day @ $50 - $70 per oz
well copper people hope for $ 6 to $10 a pound

A packed bucket of bare copper stranded is about 50# depending on how good of a srtomper you are :)
I get 50 lbs of stripped wire packed into a 5 gallon bucket and that is by stomping it in as I go.
One of the yards in town that has a wire chopper says a 45 gallon drum (55 U.S. gallon) holds about 3200 lbs or so. That's roughly 58 lbs. per U.S. gallon, chopped.
I've packed 20 plus pounds into a large flat rate for E bay. the wire is vac wires communication wire lamp romex ect . I feel i could go over 50#
chopping wire sounds great can you imagine moving a 290 pound 5 gal bucket .
