thanks for the pics & posts for those old Iacocca cars. I worked days as a car salesman in 1985 while working on my degree at night school. Sold a bucket load of those Horizons, quite a few Lasers, and a few Turismos in six mos. at a Chrysler store. The Shelby thing was called the Omni GLH in 85 & 86, I think they "updated" it to GLHS after that. The Turismo had some resemblance to the nissan Leopard. I think there was a brief period of time that the Turismo was called the 2-door Horizon (when it first came out) so that may be part of the confusion.
The Omni/Horizon thing was a great little car for the money, had the 2.2 and was extremely reliable and minimal maintenance for the first 100k. After 100 on the clock they kind of gave out. Funny thing is the door handle mechanisms would wear out and you see lots of Horizon owners crawling through the hatch to get in the car.
The Laser was a very sexy car back in the day. The turbo version had a nice bit of giddyup.
