Need some info on Ceiling fan capacitors. I guy i know has been trying to push these onto me. He has probably 1k #'s of them.
I broke one open and when i got through the plastic it appeared to be a roll of aluminum thin sheets. Not real sure i was hoping someone has correct info on material type and the scrap value. The two copper wires of course has some value, but what about the rest.? Thanks in advance.

Might have a little more value to a surplus house, they look to be new. We used to have a buyer here that would buy up left over components.Quote:

I've allways cliped the wires off and throw away the rest. Too small to brake down.
trickle them out on ebay in lots of 5 or 10, or sell singles and net $2 each, they are know as a cbb61 capacitor
I know this thread is older, but thought I could provide some info. as I occasionally scrap ceiling fans... the older capacitors (the big, silver, cylindrical ones) that are usually attached to the side of the fan motors in some older fans may be worth more.
