Advice needed Please
Gentlemen i have a interesting dilemma before sandy my shop working area and house was ll in a respectable area since the storm my shop is in toms river i got all over monmouth ocean atlantic county and my house is in cream ridge (t/y fema) so while i am working steadily 14-20 hours a day 7 days a week the 40 minute commute sucks
right now i have an interesting dilemma as i am looking at expanding or at least seperating the car portion of the business froom everything else i have a location picked out in freehold to move the hvac recovery and metal side over and leave the cars stuff where it is.
my dilemma is i don"t have enought trucks and have 2 schools of thought the original plan was to go out and buy a bigger trailer to thus haul more and move more stops before cashing in but the fact that i only have a 2500 series dodge ram pulling it may oer due the truck the other school of thought was tom buy a 6 cyl f150 long bed and use it for commuting and longer hauls i am in a toss up and the $$$ isn"T there for both right now ideas thoughts comments

your leaving a little out but im going to assume some, my answer would be get the extra trailer, that way you can multipurpose with different trailers and a trailer is cheaper to maintain than an extra truck, we have two trailers for each truck and still don't have enough
-
what trucks and trailers do you currently have?
-
That is a huge area wit a lot of dead space in between. I cant give you advise on what to do, but I wouldn't spread my operations to far apart. If you are living in Cream Ridge now, I do know that Prices on 539 pays good on insulated wire.
-
cory and matt it wouldn"t be an extra trailer i"ld go from a 28' to a 35 footer but i worry the 2500 isn"t up to it as far as prices yard goes i am going to reserve my response on a public forum but will say that their policies irk me beyond belief
-
Ive only taken wire there, don't know about anything else.
-
you know what i take it back
Prices is like a toddler in the big boys world since there prices cannot compete with other yards and they can"T drive traffic to the yard on their own they play baby games like putting a bounty on other legitimate company"s bandit signs or paying others to visit other yards or cold call competitors and flagging craigslist ads.
go to theirs website njscrap.com and look on the left side http://njscrap.com/images/photo.JPG
Now Buying
"We Buy Cars" Signs @ $0.50 each Call For More Information
i would have more respect for them if they didn"t have to edit my signs on that and for that they pretty much know how to shoot themselves in the foot
sorry i really feel the need to put them on blast the more i think about it the less i want to reserve my thoughts.

Rant over back to my original ?? please

Gentlemen i have a interesting dilemma
Read that far, quit reading.
May I suggest - "Gentlemen and Ladies" in the future ?
Not to single you out Libertytow, you are not the first to do this.
I can't claim to speak for other female scrappers but I find it enough of a boy's club on here ( albeit mostly unintentional I think) to be sensitive about the language.
-
Really scrapette ? You find it nessecary to be the political correct police for this forum ? I'm sure no malice was intended by liberty in the intro to this post. This game has been a Boys game for decades, doesn't mean your not welcome but also doesn't mean you specifically will get mentioned in every post. If I offend you, my bad, but I would consider growing thicker skin also.

And my apologies to liberty tow for my rant and hijacking.
