Hi all, so hear is my question do the boards themselves have any PM value like in the solder. Is there any retrievable silver? I have a few hundred lbs of just board. I took a sawsall to the power supplies and have a bunch of clean boards left.

From what I have read it is minimal money to be made on those boards. Seems like most people strip them and put them in there shred pile. Unless you have a local buyer who buys those boards. Shipping will kill profit if any.
I usually throw them in with my low grade boards.
Try to find a local buyer and see how much you can get for the whole board per lbs. I get .40 per lbs for the boards.
sounds like you have found a quick way to process these, im curious towards the process, you just use a sawzall the cut the components off the surface of the board, how do you clamp the board like vertical in a vise?Quote:

Yes Jg I put it vertical in the vice but the board is still attached to the case (most of the time) with the 4 screws everything dumps into a box messy but quick. I had been throwing themselves depopulated boards in shred it just seems that there is more value than that. Like if the solder used is 2% or 4% silver. Just curious. I have seen a buyer pay. At. .41/lb where is the value? (not on the board) so it must be under the board no?
CT, from what I can tell the solder in power supplies is standard lead based. Cheap dime store brand except they flow solder it.
