Why are briquettes more valuable than scrap metal chips?
You can't bbq with scrap metal chips.
Because of the density of briquettes you have less percent moisture(unless you intentionally soak it) and you dont lose nearly as much in the initial melting process....
someone please explain briquettes and chips, it just sounds to me like supplies for a picnic lol
Chips are in the shaving and turning family. Because they are the product of solid material being machined they usually contain alot of coolant or moisture from the process. Briquetting is like baling but it presses the material into a "brick" or a puck creating a very dense solid dryer type product ready to be tossed into a furnace...
So basically a briquette is a bale of turnings and shavings, kinda like what comes out of the trash compactor after its compressed it. I think i understand now. I bet putting that oil soaked turnings and shavings into a furnace would create a nice fireball.
