Copper is definitely one of my favorite metals to collect.
Copper is my savings account...ill take in 100 lbs occasionally but ive got quite a bit stored away...just in case I need it or prices skyrocket
you dont need to watch an hour long tv show to know that cu is where the $$$ is at...its in almost every scrap item you can think of and pays the most at ur local yard..
Dont forget about those computers though!!!
Also, its so friggin pretty!!!
Gota love it...
Cu is good but I rather have Au.
Bro, I was a teacher for 15 years and one thing you must learn, never turn down information even if its repetitive. Right now I am reaking in copper from the 34 crts I got and 6 more that I found.
Yo gotta creap before you can crawl. Check out copper bullions.
Copper is the basis for most of the pricing in our business,Copper insulated wire, sealed units, electric motors copper aluminum coils, alternators, starters, just a fast few items the higher the copper price the higher all these items go up.
Saw the same program. Very cool.
It is easy to make more off steel than copper. It takes me about 2-3 hours to load 1500 to 2000 lbs of white goods and drop it off at scrap yard. Turns into $75-$100 per hour. Hard to strip 25lbs of copper per hour, especially when it is being pulled from CRTs.
Shootsitall you ain't kidding buddy. If I could strip that much copper wire in a hour..
An good to see you back on the forums my friend.
Sirscrapalot - Really needs to get a gathering of NC coasters together on his sandbar..well ok..all the NC folk, I won't judge you for not being coastal. Coastal, people not postal!
i have 200 pounds of copper pennies ive collected over the years, it didnt cost me anything above face value
I'm hoarding copper. I will save it until I need the cash. Since I get it free I lose nothing.
Hamen to that bro
There may well come a day when copper is more practical, there for more valuable then Gold.
That is great for you, but the average scrapper does not find/buy tons of clean ready to sell copper. Yes I love to see shinny copper, but there are many more profitable ways to spend time than stripping copper. As well as collecting materials that are worth more per pound than copper. Time is an expense most people dont factor into their profits.
If I dont have a clue what I am doing, then I must be faking it pretty good....This is my only job and all my bills are paid.
Love the NON loads but have no problem being a F-up by hauling steel every chance I get.
Dude, listen to yourself. You need to broaden your orizon. There is much you need to learn.
I totally agree with you. Copper is more available and widely used than gold. I am looking forward to that day.
