Hi everyone, im new to the scrapping game and have a quick question. I've done tons of research so i think im understanding what to do pretty well. this forum has helped quite a bit so thank you all!
My question is, is it worth it to extract the little gold pins from your motherboards or should i leave them and sell the board as a whole? Thank you!
Removing the gold bearing material from mobo's can/will downgrade the price per pound paid. I do not remove them and don't know of anyone on the forum who does.
It would be nice if you would go to the introduction section and do an introduction. Its nice if you tell us a little about yourself, read some of the other threads and you will know what others have shared. Mike
i am brand new to metals reclamation, in fact we are about to open a new scrap metal yard in southeastern ma, but have no clue where to sell ferrous, non ferrous, batteries, etc....can anyone help me?

there is a wire and copper buyer from pa in the buyers section. Opening a scrap yard is not a good idea if you have no knowledghe of scrap metal at all. there are many ways to get cheated, and its hard to offer competative pricing without knowing what things are.

I have developed at least 4 products in my life time that made other people rich, because I produced them before they were ready and I was under funded but couldn't stop my tendency and philosophy of full boar ahead.
1. Plastic phone book covers that look like yellow pages ( before they all had business card type ads)
2. Bag buddy. portable fold up trash can later showed up on tv ads by some one else.
3. restaurant menu magazines and calendars. the yellow pages now does that.
4. tourist maps with logos of businesses at their location on the front. and the ads on the back. the big map company s just flat stole that one.
I also put the first female disk jokey on the radio at KLPR Oklahoma city in 1974.
The point is I never made any real money from any of them because I jumped in with both feet before it, or I, was ready.
