Selling "for parts" laptops: auction vs buy now

I want to try selling on eBay a few broken laptops I collected, instead of scrapping them. Most of them have no HDDs, battery or RAM but their screens are intact and they don't look that beat up.

My question is for those who have done this a lot: based on your experience, is it better to auction those "for parts" laptops or sell them as "buy now"? I tend to like auctions simply because I often have a hard time setting up the right "buy now" price (not too high, not too low) so I prefer the bidding to determine the price. But at the same time I can see how someone needing some spare part for their broken machine -- like a screen -- would prefer to order something right away instead of waiting for an auction to finish.

You can setup a BIN auction and still allow offers.

I sell some laptopsfor partsand what I try to do is test them as much as possible and inform the customer as to what the computer is doing.......I also make sure to say that it is sold as is for parts no returns, guarantees, refunds etc.........I always run them as an auction because the sky's the limit.........If it's dual core the last one I got over $70 for it as is
