Catalytic material is used in the exhaust stacks and fume scrubbers for many industrial applications. If an industrial operation is exhausting any type of gas, they will have a catalytic converter somewhere along the exhaust path. These have to be replaced on a fairly regular basis and are heavily regulated by the EPA here in the United States.
