Hey guys. Tearing apart a control unit from an Electrical Discharge Machining unit I've come across a couple of boards like this. Seems to me its just green board material with a handful of slots kinda like a backplane, by time i remove the steel. Im assuming this qualifies as "low grade" Yet it still has a few gold plated connectors. So my thought is should I seperate the connectors from the board?

That board would either go as midgrade, fingercard/wo fingers, or green motherboard price depending on who your selling to and whos grading that day. It has enough gold pins in the connectors to make midgrade at the bare minimum.
I'd break the plastic part off one of those so the gold shows. Definitely remove the metal
If you remove the gold the board will have to go as midgrade. If you leave it on you have a good chance at a higher grade. Im thinking its would basically be same as a riser card without fingers. You pull the connectors off your gonna get $2 pound for connectors and $2 pound midgrade board.
So simply being a green board makes it not "low" grade? Im very new to this. Expected since there wasnt any pretty IC's populating the board it was next to worthless =)

Thanks, i wanted to see what the rear looked like to see if there was any heavy gold plating on the back, which there isnt. If it were me i would not remove the connectors. I can sell that board to my buyer and get motherboard pricing. If i pull the connectors i get low grade. If you pull the connectors your taking the only thing that has worth from the board and may down grade the board for whoever you are selling to. The best advice is to ask your buyer what he pays with or without them on. If your a "pin puller" and have enough to make it worth your while then pull away. Before anyone questions it i stated "My Buyer" gives me motherboard pricing for reasons that me and my buyer have agreed upon.
You should be able to get rid of those for back plane prices. At LEAST a peripheral board price. At the absolute minimum a mid grade price, but I would try to sell those to a bulk buyer as back planes.
