Depends on the board. Just rip the stuff off if its low grade, higher grades just leave it on.
If your talking the low grade it doesn't matter as the boards usually are ground up or crushed to reclaim the $ out of them. It doesn't matter to my local yard how many pieces the boards are in as their paying me by the lb.
The only time I would desolder is if you have a part that you want to reclaim to resell then desoldering would be the proper way.
Mechanic688, are you saying that its ok to leave everything on a low grade board or do you recommend taking it off?
It depends on how you value your time, in other words, could you be doing something better with your time. I pull transformers, alum.heatsinks, and IC chips off because their worth more than the low grade boards to me. If you don't want to mess with them then by all means leave it on, their paying by the lb. I get .20 lb locally.Quote:

Thanks for the useful information. Getting real close to having enough boards saved up to make my first sale. I'm looking forward to it. Its like a kid in a candy store.
