romex stripped to becoem bare and bright?

Ok, I just made a wire stripper that will nicely and easily strip the wire from romex.. first the outer cover, then the individual wire insulation.... I'm hoping to get bare and bright price for this wire, at least the 12, 10, and 8 gauge stuff I have.... the 14 gauge stuff maybe too :-)

So, heres my question... how long can I leave the bare wire siting out after stripping before it is no longer bare and bright? Can I strip it today and bring it in a month to the yard and still have it bare and bright? or do I barely have a week or worse a few days before it starts to tarnish and turn brown to become #1 or :::ack::: #2 again ;-(

or am I just confused and stripped bare 8 - 14 gauge wire is always bare and bright?

As long as it's inside out of the weather it should remain BB

cool, so if I strip a bit each night and throw it into the bins in my garage I should be ok and I dont' have to rush? nice, thank you very much!

I have some bits and pieces that have been stripped for a couple of months waiting on more before I take it in and it still looks good.

Maybe you can upload a couple pics of the stripper that you made.

As long as it is out of the elements it should stay bare brite for some time.

If the copper does begin to oxidize lightly, you should be able to wipe it off with a damp towel.
