TV Motherboards
Hi, just wondering. I had a gentleman offer me his TV motherboards for $1.00 a pound. Do you happen to know what going rate ruffly is for them?
Would I make out ok at paying a $1.00 a pound?
Thanks Jim
I looked around board for little bit, couldn't find clear answers on what people are paying. My search came up with everything about *Boards* Nothing TV

Are they boards from Flatscreen (plasma, LCD, LED) or boards from CRT monitors?
Most CRT TV's have low grade brown board which isn't worth much more than shred value but you do get some transformers/copper from them. Personally, I think 1 dollar/lb is way too expensive for the boards.

Strange I was also offered a large quanity of these "tv boards" for a $1/lb.........I was sent a picture and they kinda looked like mid grade but I wouldn't commit to anything until I saw them in person (OF COURSE) DUH

I believe most are from LCD, led flat panel TVs. Its a TV repair place that does warranty switch outs. Then company 99% of time don't want them back.
-
if they are all green boards from LCD and plasma tv's I believe this would fall under my mid grade prices of $2 a pound. I would have to see pics first to be sure though.

Out of LCD we would pay $2.50+ on these boards.

Thanks Ewasted, I was just going to say I would buy the lcd boards for 1.00 all day long. They are more than mid grade.

What about the the boards on either side of LCD tvs? The tall ones with all of the little transformers on it. I'm not talking about power supply boards. I pulled 2 off of a LCD tv the other day one said slave and the other master. They were on either side of the tv. Curious as to the value of those. I'm trying to decide if I should take the little transformers off or not.

Are LCD screens worth anything?

I did one today and this one has a beautiful aluminium sheet but it's stuck to the screen.
not sure how to tell lcd & plasma appart though but I think you mean the long strip boards
that are seen here running along the bottom in this case?
think they vary but this one I would rate low grade as the're almost blanks but have seen better ones..

this tv also has a low grade white board except the copper in this is thick stuff...

on the side are them gold ribbons and on the other side are green ribbons with gold finger..

these are stuck in between the screen and the metal plate so need to be trimmed off but look how nice the fingers are,
also they look to have like little ic's on each one..

now that we're coming to the end of crt's, think scrapping tv's is going to be a much more lucrative caper.
