...but I'm not fixing to quit, seems like with the lower ferrous prices it's become a LOT easier to get a lot of stuff, case in point, tonight's load from the other side of town (they have trash pickup tomorrow morning):

Wish this was a few months ago because I could have gotten more for all of this stuff but it is what it is I guess, and of course, that green chair is aluminum which I will obviously sell separately with the rest of my aluminum...

Lower prices means less competition. THe hard core scrappers are the ones who will still be out there. I know I saw two pickups tonight by me and these guys are the ones I know are always around. When prices come up there is actually one guy who goes around curb shopping in an Escalade. These guys dont breakdown anything and are in it for the quick score. What most dont know is that non ferrous is still pretty good, and I hope they dont ever catch on...lol. BTW checked out a few pick ups this week....nothing to write home about. Its amazing how people will deny there is a problem with a vehicle even when you show them. Be well.
I actually got 3 of them in the truck, one is in fairly decent shape, me and a buddy of mine may try to fix that one up and sell it for more than scrap value (that and 3 others I have at my house), the other 2 are battered wrecks, may tear the motors off of them to get more bang for my buck...Quote:

May have got more $$ a few weeks ago but not had as much, so it all averages out.
I absolutely do, with fewer out there doing it at present it seems I've been coming home with full loads more often. Before that, 50/50 hit or miss, about an even number of days coming home with alot or nothing at all. Went into last night's "shopping spree" with low expectations, until the first catch of the night was an old stove, then it just continued to grow from there until I had almost no room left...Quote:
