after sorting through a large load, a few Q's

First pic is a board connected to the power supply board. Should I break the power supply side off? It does add a lot of weight though :).

Second pic is 2 cpu's I am not sure what to do with. any help identifying? Is that a cpu on that board?

Thrid pic is loaded with cpu's? Not sure about these boards, I have about 8 of them. I pulled the small gold cpu out of the board on the left (see the empty socket)

2nd pic is a slot cartridge cpu. They are their own category of pricing...11-12/lb as I remember

1st pic, I had one of these before, cut off the motherboard from the PS part. Kept together it would only be considered a low grade board.

agreed, atleast you can get green motherboard price for half of it

Im more interested in that chip. were the rest of those able to be removed or was that the only one. I see those types once and a while never had the time yet to pry one up and check.

im gonna have to check my old motherboards and cards now, so would that chip be classified the same as a gold top ceramic ic? in the $80-$100 pound range?

Thats what i was thinking so its more like in the gold top and bottom cpu range at $300 per pound or $4 each. I have about 200 pounds of boards here im gonna hand sort in the next couple weeks, gonna have to check those vintage boards for those chips.

The small gold chip was in the small socket on the board on the left(bottom pic.) It had a small clip holding a small al heatsink on it. Once the heatsink was removed I saw GOLD! I pulled out all the other chips shown (on both boards) , and all were plain black chips with no gold at all. So I put them back in.

I notice you said that you put the chips back in. Is that a rule of thumb to get the better price or is that just your way of doing things.

Does anyone know what the boards in his last picture are considered? I have plenty of both these boards but I don't know the classification of the one on the right. I would classify the one on the left as high-grade telecomm and the one on the right I am unsure. The right board contains plenty of IC chips and some expansion slots; do you think it also classifies as high-grade telecomm.

I could take the chips out and put them with my other ic chips, or keep them in to add weight to the whole board. I'm not sure which method pays better though. Maybe someone else here could answer that, I am curious too.

those are not telecom boards, those are a motherboard and an isa card out of a vintage computer, you can tell by the lsa slots that were used before pci slots came around, guess that indicates my age
