is this valuable scrap product?

Can someone tell me if there is a scrap value in the diamond
teeth that are on the big36&44 inch concrete saw blades ?

I assume it would go as shred

How big are the diamonds? Seems like it wouldn' hurt to call a diamond buyer if you think they're worth meelee.

i believe those blades might have a core value. Try calling a few places that use them or sell them, like a specialized tool place (not like home depot)

Are the blades new or are the worn down quite a bit? Blades that size they usually retip, so there would be a core/used value. I see the 36" goes for $600 new. So the 44" would be $1,000+.

The diamonds themselves are "industrial" grade, not for jewlry. My father who worked in a factory that used cutting tools that had diamonds on the cutting surface. He said that they were reused/recycled but I assume they were not worth a great deal. I would guess as the others have suggested could be sold as cores. The only thought I would have is why the original owner did not sell them as cores. Mike.

Hell I would cut it up and make knives with the blade lol. I have some 15 inchers. I have made quit a few blades out of them. Good hard steel for a knife. Holds a good edge too.

I used to make diamond saw blades, the only way you could get core for them would be to find a manufacture. The diamonds are mostly man made diamonds, a few will have natural diamonds but they are such small chips they have no real value. Joebob I don't know how you make a knife ouy of a piece of round steel that's about an eight of an inch thick.

Happy, I know quite a few people that make knives from saw blades. I don't know how they do it, but I have seen the finished product many times. As far as diamond tipped cutting blades goes, I am not sure about those and the previous advice sounds good to me. However, if you find some blades that are carbide tipped (used for many things: wood, metal, concrete), you can put them in a vice, heat up the lower half of each tooth and use vise-grips to snap each tooth off of the blade, you can scrap the Carbide tips. Carbide pays VERY well.I have seen low priced carbide at $5\pound and I have seen it go for more than $12\pound. ( YES, those are at SCRAP prices ).
