New from the north.
Hey everyone, just found this forum last night and what an awesome place! From Barrie Ontario Canada. Been scrapping on and off for the past year. I work at the family mechanic shop, and this is where most of my scrap comes from. The city and surrounding areas don't allow large items at the curb so its sometimes tough to find stuff here. Mostly into buying and scrapping/parting out cars. I own a 1999 Dodge ram 2500, big old diesel beast and an 18ft car trailer. When I first got here I was afrade I'd be one of the few young guys. (21) but was surprised when I saw a lot of other guys my age. Any tips or pointers for this noobie would be much appreciated! Happy scrappin!

New from the north here too! Will likely not be posting a lot at first; just reading and learning on how to make our newly-formed E-waste recycling operation more successful. Any tips and hints from other Canadians on how/where to market your goods or find materials etc, are appreciated of course! Any knowledge I have will be shared as well, so it's not a one-way street! Thanks to the admin for providing a great resource like this!

Welcome from Manitoba, your very fortunate living in Barrie Ont, EDI gold is your neighbor, he buys e-scrap. So your going to save a bundle on shipping.

There's some company that has a manopoly on the e waste here in the area. His drop off bins are EVERYWHERE, and always loaded to the brim. Only thing more convenient would be if I went and picked the stuff up myself! Hmmm... He may have some competition in thr near future. I was also thinking of putting bins out for regular old scrap, not just e waste, but the only issue with that is theft... Not too sure if its a good idea or not.
