This is a ceramic/metal composite tube made by Eimax, model 3CX3000A7. It is referred to as a power tube or transmitter tube used in radio station broadcast I believe. I wonder if anyone know how much silver is in one of these and if they may contain platinum?

Can't actually answer your question but maybe you'll like this answer anyway. If it is any good still the tube can be worth up to 200-300. They are still used by the guys that manufacture CB-ham amplifiers. The Eimac is still made in the US. Here is a good example; eimac 3cx3000 | eBayQuote:

Some tubes contain quite a bit of silver, some none at all. None that I know of has any platinum in them. Plus there are a few pounds of #2 copper. The ceramic part may contain beryllium, and should not be broken when dismantling, as the beryllium dust is hazardous.
