Bare board
Ok last stupid board question for a while.
So is a bare (nothing on it) board worth anything. I have a few stacks of boards that never had any parts put on them. They are multible layer green boards.
Are they even low grade or are they trash? One stack has gold fingers I that I can cut off if they are woth nothing.

i had some that came out of a server that only had fingers/pins on the ends my buyer broke the ends off paid me for them and i tossed the rest of the board in the garbage.
-
I think they would at least be low grade...I wouldn't toss em...
-
Yup, should be low grade.
-
Try to sell em on ebay w good pics n descriptions if ya have them..otherwise garbage..what u getting on lowgrade???

I seen a guy take all the components off a board. And then he hung it on the outside of his shed for about 3 months to weather. He took the board down and tried to sell it at an Art Fair. I guess he thought he was an up and coming artist.
Just another option I wanted to throw out there before you trash the board. Maybe that could turn into a niche market for you.

kind of sounds like what a board from a tv remote looks like (minus gold fingers of course...) I'd throw them in the low grade pile. Or at minimum shred pile.

If they are non-populated multi layer boards with some gold, best thing to do is at least remove some of the solder mask (green stuff) on the traces and see if they were immersion gold plated. Meaning the entire outer layers have copper/nickel/gold plating on them. At least then you know what you are dealing with.
