If we live long enough, we all come to points of recognition in our lives that remind us just where we are in the journey. I remember when I had to give up racing. I remember when I became invisable to the hot young things, and later when I lost intrest in chasing them. I remember the exact day when I gave up scrapping cars and other heavy stuff.
Yesterday I went for a putt on my yammer 750 , they had just graded my road and about 2 blocks away I got into some wet clay/sand and gently dumped it. I worked for about 20 minits trying to get it back up right, to no avail, and had to walk back to the house to get the boys to help me.
when the road drys Im going to take one more last ride. then say good by to my last "big bike" and pass it on to my son.
I refuse to give up on bikes ,been riding since the 60s. I do have my little scooter, but we in the know, know that isn't going to get it. what I need is some advice from some of you older bikers. I want a bike I can ride a hundred miles or so with plenty of power, (I now weigh about 150, down from my usual 225) but one that has the low center of gravity I can pick back up if I lay it down. I can still lift 70 to 100 lbs with a little effort.
