With another vendor paying less for the colored boards, it's only a matter of time before easy gets on board and makes the switch as well. With that in mind, what is everyone dropping their "buy" pricing on whole computer towers down to? On average the good stuff is going to get harder and harder to find, and the newer junk is going to come up more and more often.
Also, anyone else thinking about bundling everything up and shipping it out before easy switches his pricing too?
Im still paying $5 a piece here in denver. I dont plan on dropping it anytime soon. Still make a good profit from them at that price.
Yes i dropped all my P4 and above tower prices from 5 to 3, 4 if they have 2 or more finger cards.
My buyer has long done this. i just use the computer date to determine price. 2-3 after 2002 4-5 anything before that. best to go by the model date and extras on the computer.

Something to think about there. The yard in the town north of me is only paying $1 a pound for motherboards. The local scrapyard is diferent as I am their e-guy as of thus far and we are seeing what comes in. They are currently getting their feet wet and are buying any and all boards at just 10 vents a pound. I get to sort through them and help them out.Quote:

Oh, back to the topic. When gold dropped back some months ago, I dropped my prices from $5 to $4 per complete tower and never turned back. In my opinion, you have someone willing to sell their tower for scrap price, or they want a whole bunch more for their working computer. If you have that scrap person on the line, that $1 will NOT make a difference, but it may to you if it is a newer computer with garbage in it.
In my opinion, the dollars paid for e-waste are just a token. The people that want their e-waste recycled properly and know that their computer is a hunk of crap will take just a dollar or two for it and be happy that it is being recycled properly. I get calls all the time saying things like "I have a laptop. It works but runs slow". I tell them my schpeal and the that I pay $1 for a BROKEN laptop for RECYCLING, and they swear at me and hang up.
I really need to remove the info from my Craig'slist add that I buy laptops, because that is probably 50% of my calls. That way I can at least tell the guy that has one laptop that I don't buy laptops. Probably won't matter as the people do not read the add. I state more than once in the add that I am looking for as stated above, broken, not working, out of date for recycling. I still get he calls from peeps that want premium money for their junk. It sucks, but those good calls do still come through and I have to put up with all of them.
