hard drives
Most of the computers i get come without hds..so i have been piling up the few that do.. this past weekend i maybe scored on the hds..all together i picked up 66, not including those inside of computers..a couple were 20gb which i assume are worthless..had a 250 which i will be able to sell to my guy
this guy who used to work on xboxs gave me 50 or so hds for free..however they dont say what gb they are... any1 have a clue what they would be..
he said he used to update them to 250s..so maybe they r the original ones..idk..any advice appreciated..thx

Check ebay to see if similar drives are selling. If not take them apart and save the magnets, hard drive motor, platter, and circuit board. Sell magnets, motor, platters on ebay. People use the motors in hobbies like robots, radio controlled things. Sell the circuit boards to one of the escrap buyers on this forum. Take aluminum to local scrap yard..
Good Luck!

Don't they have any numbers on them at all? They should at least have a brand and a model number, use those in google search

The original xbox 360 had a 20 gig hdd others were 60, 120, 250 or 320 gig.
-
The original XBOX had 8 and 10GB HDs (formatted to 8GB)

Amen! Snappy :) If they've still got the games and stuff on em, you might have a deck of old baseball cards! Could they have personal info, like account numbers/ credit cards? Better be sure on that part
-
Im not sure about personal info.. the guy did mention some of them were loaded with old nintendo games n others..now to set up a test station...
wats up with snappy?

Got access to a xbox or xbox 360? If so you can hook the drives up to it and just log in and see the size. You can hook the old hard drives to the new 360s but you need a cable if I recall correctly. I upgraded to a 360 and one of the newer 250gb drives, but before I got the 250 drive I was using my old one with the 360. I think it was a 20gb cause it didn't hold a whole helluva lot.
Can you post a pic of some of the xbox drives? Might help in narrowing it down. I know we got a few gamers on here besides myself. :P
Far as personal info at lest on the original xbox ones..You could find various personal info like cc #'s, billing address, name, etc. Maybe some old games, and music. I didn't do a lot of buying through my original xbox but I do on my 360. The CC #'s were kept on file on the drives for the ability to renew your xbox live subscription, or for DLC (downloaded content). I know on the 360's all this info IS on there. If I ever get rid of mine, it'll be scrapped and destroyed like any other Hard Drive. Nowadays with a 360 you can download/rent/buy movies, videos, tv shows, games, music, etc. Not to mention your log in info for various services like netflix, hbogo, hulu+, etc.
Hope this helps and if not, chalk it up another late night ramble by yours truly. :)
