I have a lot of non-functioning LCD Screens. I took them apart to get the boards and metal. Though, I still need a company to take the screens themselves. I know they contain some hazardous material. Anyone in the tri-state have a contact for the disposal of these screens?
contact clr solutions about non working lcd screens that havent been taken apart. he may be interested in them for repair at better than scrap value. though it depends on the current market and the number you may have
plasma screens contain silver, but LCD screens are florescent tubes behind plastic filters. What hazmat do they contain?
i threw 2 small ones in the shred yesterday, still had the metal wrapped around it, i didn't go inside looking for any goodies, just tossed em
there are some nice runner boards in them, and some decent grade logic boards... but they always have so many d@mn little screws. PITA for sure. i'd almost rather strip printers
I'm just accumulating such a stack of plastic, and saw an opportunity to just toss it in the shred. I really pushed this last load to the max, seeing how far I could get with it, and who would be there besides the owner, working on his crawler. One of the guys working there said something and he walked over there and looked, just gave me a funny look and went on lol
They buy these complete here but don't pay much .20/lb....I'm trying to figure out if its worth taking them apart or just selling them as is .......I have had alot of luck selling the working one's on ebay (I do test and if it has major scratches I don't list it)
Thank you for the responses guys... Sounds good... they just take up a lot of space... Got a great load today of CPUs, Servers, LCD monitors, laptops... and... wait for it.... 10 working DLP Projectors (Toshiba, Acer, Dell, etc.). Kinda pumped to throw these bad boys on ebay and see how quick they sell.. Late in the afternoon got a clean out of Lucent phones as well...
In my temporary place at the moment. Was getting ready to move into Jersey. But it looks like that isn't going to happen. Staying put where I am in Brooklyn.

Totally agree there...got a wheelbarrel full of printers right now and some tvs. Don't know which I want to do. :-/Quote:
