varies from state to state, region to region. Some people can get curbside pickup of a few stripped tubes, other people have to pay through the nose and deliver them to a dump site to get rid of them. they are a problem for me, and you need to check with your municipality, or people from your area about how to dispose of them properly.
if you post a brief introduction in the intro section, people could get a better understanding of where you live, and the locals on this forum could help you more with their own solutions. there is no easy answer. leaded glass among a few other hazmat chemicals make tv disposal an edgy process sometimes. good luck
Yes, please post an intro. We like that. Check with your local goodwill. Some of them will take up to 10 per day. Not all of them though.
My local goodwill wont take them and my landfill wont anymore either. So i turn them down its a shame i could get litterly hundreds of them
Try going to Best Buy. They accept TV's that are as big as 32". Anything bigger than that and you have to pay. There is a place near me that accepts CRT's for a dollar an inch. Thats when you need to charge people for removal. I don't usually touch anything larger than 32" unless someone else has smashed it for its yolk. I remove all the boards, speakers, and anything else worth it. I can't stand that when people smash in the larger TV's and then leave them there for someone else to clean up. It gives us scrappers a bad name.Quote:

Ford six you might want to talk to Happyscrapper about them. He seems to have a good line on someone breaking them down. I got out of that racket pretty fast. I still buy them but i required towers along with them or equivalent scrap amounts.Also easy has a connection for selling the working units, Same with one of my buyers that i can put you in contact with. She even has a box truck with lift gate to come to you. Let me know what you want to do.
Actually, this is a horrible idea but the next time I buy a TV from Best Buy I am going to scrap the largest CRT that I can get my hands on and then have them deliver the new TV and take out the old one. They provide that service also.
Does anyone know of a place near Salt Lake to take tubes? I'll be contacting Goodwill, BestBuy and other possibilities and let you know if I find anything.
