Hello all! I'm currently doing a study on the Aluminum scrap market. I'm interested in knowing about the following :
1) How is Aluminum UBC scrap priced? Is it linked to LME Aluminum prices?
2) As the current LME Al prices are on a fall, how is it changing aluminum UBC contracts ?

ubc refers to the grade of AL. as far as i know it means unbaled beverage cans. its just a grade.. it still fluctuates with the AL market price just the same.
google is telling me it means used beverage containers. and in the food/service industry they use higher grade aluminum than one would use for casting machine parts or something like that. but the fact that its often painted, polymer coated and extruded so thin its actualy sheet tends to offset the price. i get more for clean window frames than i get for ubc
