Was hitching up and thought I'd snap a pic of my trailer block. Got tired of bending over to get it with two hands, and sometimes getting splinters.
Took a seat belt, cut it to size, then stapled it on with romex staples. Reach down, grab with one hand and toss it into truck.
Not a life changing tip, but as I told Hoss the other day I am all about easy/time saving.

If you put the seatbelt on the top of the block, instead of the front, you wouldn't have to bend over as far ;)
True. This has worked so far.
Could bolt the block to a bracket and the pole put a hinge on it. connect the 2 and when its time to go just swing the block up lock in place and go.--free million dollar idea on SMF lol
Yo dune they already got them but it's got a wheel or metal base attached to the bottom.
But if you put it on top, the tube for the crank with the weight of the trailer would probably cut the belt in two. On the side no chance of cutting/shredding it.Quote:

When I hauled campers for a living I had the safety chains welded to the side of the hitch then under the bumper on each side was a small u hook that I would hang the other end of the chain on when I was bob tailing home. Never had to worry about accidentally dragging a chain or leaving it on the customers camper.

Seen the same thing done but with old piece of fan belt instead of seat belt, but good idea either way.
