Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has made up a "customer agreement form" that the customer signs or initials when you pick stuff up? I plan on writing one up soon which will include indemnification (to guarantee against any loss which another might suffer, to be held harmless) and an agreement that the item that I am picking up from the customer belongs to them and isnt stolen propertity.
Does anyone have a sample or any advice for going about this?

That sounds like a pretty good idea. People have become sue-happy. It definitely makes sense to have customers sign a release.Quote:

As far as "hold harmless" agreements, they can HELP spread the liability but it wont get you out of being sued. Any decent lawyer will find a way around your "hold harmless" agreement. As far as the agreement to allow you to pick up items, I use the emails. I just went through that with someone today. I ask them to send me an email with what they want me to pick up, especially if they're not going to be there when I pick it up (the stuff is to be outside - I don't go in any house or building). Then I can show the police the email when they ask me what I'm doing there.
