Has anyone tried to file a complaint about the quality of your local service? I have, I was having a problem awhile back, my mail was consistently being delivered after 6 pm, when at one time it was like clock work between 2 to 3 pm. We even got it after 8:30 pm once. I went to local post office to inquire why so late? Was referred to assistant manager, he acted like no big thing, even said "you got it didn't you". I asked to speak to his boss, he was on vacation. When does he return? Response "not sure". So for every other day I returned, after three weeks, I was told he was in, please wait by P.O. boxes, he will be out to see you soon. In this entire period of time I and my neighbors mail was late every night (I was not the only one trying to find out why?). When manager comes out to see me, he asked how can I help you? I explained in detail, his response? Iv'e been on vacation I'll need to look in to this. I asked? Is it normal for mail to be delivered so late? All depends. What is your goal, like what time do you want the mail delivered by? His response was, we really don't have a set time, as long as it's delivered six days a week. I asked is there a procedure to file a formal complaint? Response No, is there anything else I can help you with.
pjost - I agree with you overall for the price, the volume they deal with it is overall a good system. Try to get USPS management to do something if there is a problem. In my company, if one of my trucks isn't in when I expect them, I want to know why, before a customer ask me! If a customer needs to get a hold of me, it has never taken three weeks! If they want to know the procedure to complain, it's simple don't pay me until your happy with my service. I can count on three fingers the times I haven't been paid, in full and those were me giving a customer credit for our mistake.
In my opinion, the problems at USPS is not with the workers, it's the management and it starts with the U.S. Congress.
